New product · North Sea e-line operations
Magnetic cleanup and e-line tools in one run.
At client request, Innovar designed and manufactured a new string magnet with built-in electrical feed-through. Tools that need power or telemetry can now be deployed below the magnet, so debris collection and e-line work are done in the same trip.
Two runs where one should be enough.
A North Sea operator needed a string magnet that could work together with tools that depend on electrical power and telemetry. Conventional string magnets have no electrical feed-through, so the operator had to choose between running the magnet and running the powered tool.
Doing both meant separate runs. Every extra run adds rig time, operational cost and personnel exposure on location.
We took the signal through the magnet.
The client asked Innovar to design and manufacture a string magnet that keeps full magnetic debris collection while allowing electrical continuity through the tool body. The XWW 35 has the electrical feed-through built directly into the string magnet body, which makes it the first tool of its kind designed for this application.
Four circumferential magnet ribs capture ferrous debris throughout the run, while power and signal pass straight through to the tools in the BHA below.
Electrical feed-through
Power and telemetry pass through the magnet body to any tool deployed below it.
One run, two jobs
Magnetic cleanup and powered tool operations combined in a single trip in hole.
Standard “GO” connection
Standard e-line connection for seamless compatibility with the existing BHA.
Rollers on both sizes
The roller body reduces drag and friction against the tubing wall during deployment and retrieval.
Sizes on request
3½” OD as standard. 4½” OD and other sizes can be delivered to suit the wellbore.
Punch and plug setting in one run
Mechanical punch and plug setting while the magnet captures any ferrous debris generated, all in a single trip in hole.
Debris collection during PLT logging
Collect wellbore debris during production logging runs. This protects sensor accuracy and reduces the risk of repeat logging passes.
Combined e-line services
Run any combination of powered or telemetry-dependent e-line tools below the magnet for single-trip well interventions.
